30A- Final Reflection
1. Upon reviewing my Entrepreneurship blog posts from this semester, I think the most challenging part of this course was having to record myself for the elevator pitches. I don't mind presenting in person, but the act of recording myself speaking for over a minute was nerve-wracking and just honestly super awkward. I didn't enjoy this at all. However, I did enjoy the assignment about embracing failure because it truly allowed me to reminisce on a time that I failed multiple times only to pick something special up.
2. If I am being honest with myself, I am only taking this course because it is a requirement and I never have seen myself as an entrepreneur. I do not think I have moved closer to becoming one, however I have learned a lot about what it takes to be one. In my opinion, relying on more corporate careers is safer as you are guaranteed a steady income, and benefits. I do not have the entrepreneurial mindset, and I am fine with that.
3. To a student that is taking this course, I would just advise them to stay organized and aware of upcoming assignments. I would also tell them to go with their gut, and to trust their ideas when working with them in this course. I doubted myself many times, which never changed the outcome. Put that energy into your work.

Hi Skylar,
ReplyDeleteWell done with your final reflection! I can totally relate on the elevator speeches being tough- they don't always come naturally, and it takes lots of practice to get better at them (similar to overcoming any failure!). While you say that you think you may not have developed an entrepreneurial mindset, completing the assignments in this class and thinking critically suggests otherwise. Perhaps you are more of a problem solver than you think! Anyhow, stay safe and best of luck in the future!
Hi Skylar. All of these final reflections are bittersweet! It is great to see how far you have come in this class, and even though you don't see yourself as an entrepreneur, you have learned more about yourself along the way. Personally, I have always seen myself as an entrepreneur so this class simply highlighted that, almost like it did with you except reversed. And, like you, I definitely recommended staying organized. Great work!
ReplyDeleteHello Skylar. First and foremost, the image you used in this post really attracts readers, so I must give credit to you for that one. Also, I agree that the most challenging part about this course was taking videos of the elevator pitch. I didn't mind being in front of the camera, but since I am not so technologically sound, I hated finding a way to export the videos into my posts. This was a nice final post for me to read, good job.
